The BREWT™ Infuser is a revolutionary new method for making your favourite hot or cold beverages. It is just right for use with fine teas, coffee and hot chocolate. The BREWTTM lets you brew a perfect cup of loose tea with little mess and no garbage. It is ideal for the home, the office, school, and in restaurants. Its design is elegantly simple. The unique shut-off valve keeps the liquid in the BREWTTM until your drink is brewed perfectly to your taste. When you place it on your cup, the weight opens the valve and the infused liquid flows through the specially designed filtration system. When you lift the BREWTTM from your cup, the valve automatically closes again, to keep the liquid in the infuser. The BREWTTM is as rugged as it is elegant. It is built to last, manufactured using impact-resistant high-grade polymer to provide you with years of use.
Polycarbonate Testing
The BREWT* is a Canadian designed and trademarked product that has been injection moulded using Polycarbonate as it's base resin. Since the unit has a number of removeable components in it's construction, it is of hybrid design and can be separated for recycling purposes. There has been concern issued recently regarding the use of polycarbonates in food applications due to potential leaching of Bpa (Bisphenol A) from the unit with extended use combined with a heat source.
As a result of this concern tests have been completed by the unit manufacturer of both the base resin and the finished BREWT* product at the source of resin manufacture in Japan and upon injection moulding in Taiwan. The test results indicate that Bisphenol A was not detected in either product. This would confirm the lack of unit degradation that we have seen on the unit internally even over an extended lifespan at home or in a restaurant application. The unit does not appear to break down in the use as it was intended.
We continue to market the BREWT* as a safe and effective tea infuser as per the Government of Canada suggestion, until such time that further studies are completed and other evidence is forthcoming that would deem this material to be of concern in this application. We continue to monitor information as it pertains to the use of the BREWT* and are prepared to re-design our infuser should that be required.
